    Make To Order

Companies that operate in this market sector are by far the largest in number. Pure Mass Production is rare in all but the largest of companies. A far more common practice is Make to Order or Jobbing. Production is done to customer specification and each job is made specifically to meet the needs of that customers order. Generally, the company does no long term product forecasting and can only do simple capacity planning based on the orders on hand and those expected during the period under review. Companies that meet these criteria include:

    • Machine Shops.
    • Specialised Workshops.
    • Fabricators.
    • Project Manufacturers.
The Make-to-order or Job Shop company manufactures directly from customer orders with little or no stock on hand. Specials are often an important part of their business. Consumable and common stock (such as fasteners) are often stocked and companies that have common sub-assemblies may keep a small stock of these on hand to shorten order lead times. This is not possible if every job is different. This type of company may also make use of sub-contactors to do material heat-treatment, plating etc. that is not economical to do in house.

    Mass Production and Distribution

The Mass Production company makes standard products to a forecast and generally supplies to wholesalers and distributors. The promises offered by MRPII functionality have left many a company disillusioned as these systems are notoriously difficult to implement and equally difficult to maintain.

Interdyne eliminates the need for classical MRPII administration. Planning and Execution procedures are dramatically reduced, as are those of Materials Handling. This system works where other computerised manufacturing systems have proven too difficult to use. Administrative processes are cut to the minimum.

The Sales Order entry and Fulfilment process is highly parameterised and caters for the most demanding environments, including dynamic bin control, bar coding, proof of delivery control and scanning of documents with links back to invoices and orders.

Full functionality is provided to optimise the efficiency of the factory as well as manage customer lead times via real-time finite capacity planning.

    Services

The number of companies that offer specialised services in repair, rebuild, installations and value-added functions are growing every day. The Service Industry is growing strongly - especially in the areas of field service, repair and refurbishment. Electronic and household repairs as well as mechanical and electromechanical repairs are well supported by the Interdyne Service Solution.

Operating a service company is particularly challenging because of the dynamic and ever changing demands encountered because of breakdowns and emergency repairs and rush jobs. Demanding customers expect unlimited resources to be available as each one believes that their problem is the most important. Your technical staff does not need to be hampered by administration – they just want to get on with the job as quickly as possible. Keeping accounting and administration as simple and efficient as possible ensures the minimum number of administrative staff, keeping overheads down.

From simple field service and workshop repair to complex Projects backed up by comprehensive planned maintenance with warranty, extended warranty and maintenance contracts - the Interdyne Services Solution is specifically designed to deal with the unique demands of the services sector.

    Supply and Maintain

Companies in this market niche are involved in the supply and after-sales service of technically advanced products to Industry. The method of supply differs from purchased products, to customised products all the way to a complex turnkey project of costly capital equipment.

Often, fierce competition puts pressure on margins and sales of new product do not generate much profit. This makes spare parts sales and after-sales service significant contributors to profit. However, small pirate part suppliers and repair companies often under undercut your prices, stealing valuable business away from you.

The Interdyne Supply & Maintain Solution is a complete ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, incorporating Financials (with optional interfacing to 3rd party accounting systems), Sales and Purchasing, Inventory control, Assembly, Manufacturing and Project Control with comprehensive After-Sales Service capabilities. The product is designed to allow you to increase your service levels to your customers; making your company easier to do business with. This is achieved through Interdyne requiring significantly less computer processes to operate, thus allowing you to react more quickly to customer requirements and reduce administration costs. A full service history, feedback systems that allow you to anticipate when servicing is needed and to alert customers to abuse or out-of-specification usage is all designed so that you can be pro-active in meeting the servicing needs of your customers. This results in less service business being lost to competitors.

If required, the Mass Production & Distribution and Services Solutions will operate seamlessly with the Supply & Maintain Solution.
